**Frequently Asked Questions**

**General**

*   **Can I use the Buttercup™ PROblow**‑**dryeroutside the United States?** Buttercup™ PROblow‑dryeris for U.S. use only.
* **How do I know if the Cool Shot button is activated?** Press the snowflake icon on the blow-dryer handle. The screen will turn blue, and a snowflake will appear next to the temperature icon.
* **What is Drybar Mode? When should I use it?** Drybar Mode automatically alternates between hot and cool air to help retain your hair’s natural moisture. Hair is most fragile when wet and using Drybar Mode minimizes heat exposure. This is especially helpful during longer styling sessions like diffusing curls or styling a blowout.
* **What is Shine Boosting Technology? When should I use it?**Shine Boosting Technology allows you to adjust the level of ions based on your hair type or hair day. Ions neutralize the positive static charge that makes hair more voluminous, frizzy, or puffy. Higher ions on thick or frizzy hair increase smoothness. Lower ions on fine or flat hair helpmaintainvolume.
* **How do I adjust the level of ions?** Press the button with the ION icon on the blow-dryer handle. The dots next to the ION icon on the screen will increase for more ions or decrease for fewer.
* **How do I adjust the temperature?** Press the button with the temperature icon on the blow-dryer handle. The dots next to the temperature icon on the screen will increase for more heat or decrease for less.
* **How do I adjust the airflow?** Press the button with the fan icon on the blow-dryer handle. The dots next to the fan icon on the screen will increase for more airflow or decrease for less.
* **Why do the heat and airflow change when I attach accessories?** The dryer has accessory recognition. It detects which accessory is attached and automatically sets heat and airflow to the previously used settings. You can always adjust manually using the air and temperature buttons on the back of the dryer.
* **How do I fold and unfold the dryer?**
    * To fold: Hold the handle with one hand and twist the nozzle clockwise. Follow the arrow on the handle under the nozzle.
    * To unfold: Hold the handle with one hand and twist the nozzle counterclockwise.

**Concentrator**

* **When should I use the concentrator?** Use the concentrator when you want more precision, smoothness, or controlled airflow. Concentrated airflow provides focused direction when styling with a round brush. The ridges align with your brush to help guide the hair. Wider airflow can be used for rough drying or covering more surface are a while styling.
* **How can I create volume using the concentrator?** Use a round brush like the Full Pint Medium Round Ceramic Brush. Start at the roots and brush upward while drying with the concentrator.
* **How can I add curl with the concentrator?** Wrap your hair around a round brush — the brush creates the shape.
    * Use a larger brush (Double Pint Large Round Ceramic Brush) for big body and bounce.
    * Use a smaller brush (Half Pint Small Round Ceramic Brush) for tighter curls and morebend.
    * Use the concentrated airflow setting and point the concentrator down the hair shaft. For a tighter grip, fold the dryer and hold itatthe nozzle.
    * Brush through the section once or twice to create tension.
    * Roll the brush toward or away from your face depending on thecurldirection you want. Lift at the root and roll inward at theends. Heat the curl for 5–8 seconds, keeping tension steady and airflow aimed at the barrel.
    * Hit it with a Cool Shot before releasing.
    * Twist out — rotate the brush in the same direction you curled, slowly unwinding and letting the curl fall into place.
* **Is the concentrator compatible with other dryers?** It is not compatible with other dryers.
* **The concentrator is falling off — how do I keep it connected?** Ensure the concentrator is fully clicked into place before use. You will hear or feel the click as it locks. If the issue persists, please call**+1 (800) 646**‑**4479**forassistance.

**Diffuser**

* **When should I use the diffuser?** Use a diffuser when you want to dry curls or waves gently, preserve definition, reduce frizz, or add root lift without disturbing the pattern.
* **When should I use each mode of the diffuser?**
    * **Prong mode:**Targets roots by directing airflow through the prongs only.
    * **Classic mode:**Enhances natural curls using both bowl and prong airflow.
    * **Bowl mode:**Targetsendsby widening airflow to the bowl only.
* **How do I help prevent frizz when using the diffuser?**Start with defined curl sections. Use low airflow, Drybar Mode, and high ion settings. Begin with your ends in bowl mode and work around your head, bunching curls from ends to roots. Switch to prong mode. Bunch curls, lift at the root, and hold for 30 seconds. When hair is fully dry, use the Cool Shot to lock in the curl.
* **How do I create volume with the diffuser?**
